Job summary

Chesapeake Urology is seeking a Medical Assistant Lead to supervise medical assistants and support the clinical team under the administrator’s direction. You’ll help manage schedules, equipment, supplies, and patient interactions while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and CLIA standards.

You will train staff, prepare calendars, and coordinate with providers to maintain smooth daily operations in a fast-paced urology practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1 year MA experience; Urology experience is a plus (All Regions except Arizona).
• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program required; MA Certification preferred (Arizona only).
• Proficiency in triaging patients, phlebotomy, injections, vitals, and processing specimens.

Responsibilities

• Oversee medical assistants in duties and ensure competencies and proficiencies.
• Prepare employee schedules, approve time sheets, and request time off.
• Run stent report monthly and determine status of stent.
• Maintain and manage all medical equipment.
• Order office and medical supplies through IOS inventory.
• Provide patient service and support staff with problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Communicate with drug representatives.
• Manage CPR renewal and CLIA inspections.
• Prepare monthly calendar for rendering provider.
• Provide assignments for medical assistants and ensure completion.
• Complete monthly back-office inspections and document safety equipment status.
• Assist team and lead members as needed.
• Create workflows, policies, and procedures to enhance staff efficiency.
• Provide excellent customer/patient services and ensure staff quality.
• Provide in-services and training to staff.
• Lead monthly staff meetings addressing issues and concerns.
• Oversee PAQ, tasks, schedules, and portal messages for medical staff.
• Attend requested meetings and maintain HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
