Job summary

Chesapeake Urology seeks a Medical Assistant to coordinate clinical care, assist physicians, and maintain infection control and equipment. You will prepare exam rooms, take vital signs, obtain specimens, and document outcomes in the EHR.

You will triage calls, uphold OSHA/MOSHA logs, and follow sterilization policies in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. The role requires a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience, high attention to detail, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a medical clinic is required.
• Urology experience is a plus. (ALL REGIONS EXCEPT ARIZONA).
• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program required and will be verified; Medical Assistant Certification preferred. (ARIZONA ONLY).

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily exam rooms with supplies and equipment for patient care.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital signs and specimen collection.
• Triage calls for pharmacy requests, test results, medical questions, and document in EHR.
• Maintain logs/records for OSHA/MOSHA; follow sterilization and disposal policies.
• Warmly greet patients/visitors in person or over the phone.
