Job summary

Midtown Pain and Spine in Raleigh, NC seeks a Lead Medical Assistant to oversee clinic flow, deliver high-quality patient care and ensure a positive experience. You will interview patients, present them to providers, and handle prior authorizations and EMR documentation daily.

The role requires strong communication, ability to manage high patient volumes, and composure in stressful situations. Prior specialty clinic experience is a plus; bachelor’s degree or MA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical related studies preferred, but not required.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred, but experience may substitute.
• Previous experience in a specialty medical office is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Mentor medical assistant team and train new staff.
• Maintain clinic readiness, including equipment and supplies.
• Perform comprehensive patient intake and present to the provider.
• Document patient encounters in the EMR system.
• Complete medication prior authorizations and submit appeals.
• Assist physicians with procedures and monitor vitals.
