Job summary

Axis Community Health in Pleasanton is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant III to provide physician support and manage administrative and clinical tasks to ensure smooth clinic flow.

You will train staff, de-escalate patient issues, and collaborate with RNs to coordinate daily operations while maintaining HIPAA privacy and professional standards. Bilingual English/Spanish is required; Epic experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of Medical Assistant and receptionist experience.
• Current MA certification required.
• CMA/CCMA/AMT certification preferred.
• Epic experience is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
• Knowledge of patient billing procedures and insurance verification.
• Ability to type at least 35 WPM and use MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Organize provider’s work, delegating tasks to care team members.
• Train and onboard assigned medical assistants.
• De-escalate and resolve patient issues and inquiries; assist with workflow development and EPIC testing.
• Pre-chart patients using EHR, and coordinate huddles for care planning.
• Track referrals, test results, authorizations, and outreach to patients.
• Collaborate with RNs to coordinate nurse visits and daily clinic workflow.
• Greet patients, register, and schedule appointments; maintain confidentiality per HIPAA.
