Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Brigham and Women’s Hospital is seeking a skilled Administrative and Clinical Support Specialist to assist the nursing team and healthcare providers in daily operations, scheduling, and patient communications.

The role may include phlebotomy and patient-care tasks within training and competency, ensuring accurate documentation, proper vital signs recording, and adherence to privacy and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Medical Assistant credential required.
• BLS certification preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational support to nursing staff, coordinating daily activities and department workflow.
• Assist nursing staff with scheduling, patient communications, documentation, coordination with other departments, and follow-up activities.
• Serve as a resource to junior Medical Assistants and assist with onboarding activities.
• Act as a liaison between nursing staff, providers, patients, and other departments to facilitate timely communication and resolution of patient-related concerns.
• Perform general office duties including answering phones, managing correspondence, and maintaining records.
• Support patient flow and rooming of patients, including preparing examination rooms and equipment.
• Obtain and document patient information (vital signs, height, weight) when clinical support is needed.
• Provide patient education and reinforce provider instructions regarding treatments, medications, and follow-up care.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens when trained and competent; relevant experience preferred.
• Maintain immunization inventory and monitor expiration dates; administer immunizations when certified.
• Support quality and safety initiatives and ensure HIPAA compliance and patient privacy.
