Job summary

TRC Talent Solutions seeks an experienced Lead Mechanical Technician to assemble, install, troubleshoot, and support advanced automation equipment and robotic work cells. You will lead mechanical builds, support testing and commissioning, and ensure safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, leadership, and the ability to travel 10–25% for domestic and international projects.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in machine building, mechanical assembly, or industrial automation.
Experience leading mechanical builds for automated machinery.
Strong knowledge of pneumatics, motion systems, conveyors, and robotics.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
Experience troubleshooting and commissioning industrial automation equipment.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical assembly and installation of automation equipment and robotic systems.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly prints, and pneumatic schematics.
Install, align, and troubleshoot mechanical components, conveyors, and automation machinery.
Support machine testing, startup, and customer acceptance activities.
Coordinate build activities and provide guidance to technicians.
Communicate project status and technical issues to management and engineering teams.
Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and project managers to resolve issues.
Follow all safety and quality standards.
