We’re seeking a Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer to join us full-time, on-site in Ogden, UT, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager.A day in the lifeYou start your morning on the manufacturing floor, providing day-to-day technical guidance to operations and maintenance. After a quick stand-up, you move into design leadership—finalizing specifications for a new process skid, reviewing vendor drawings, and validating fabrication plans. In the afternoon, you run finite element analyses in ANSYS to confirm a stress-critical component, then coordinate cross-functional teams to schedule installation, testing, and qualification activities—always ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You wrap up by preparing content for an upcoming presentation to customers and regulators.What you’ll ownHands-on engineering support for manufacturing and chemical operations and maintenance.Technical leadership for new or modified systems—from concept and specifications through installation, fabrication, testing, and qualification—aligned with safety and regulatory requirements.Evaluation and application of innovations in materials, machinery, manufacturing, and chemical processing to resolve complex production challenges.Creation of novel approaches in materials, equipment, and process design.Engineering calculations and FEA (e.g., ANSYS) to validate equipment and process designs.Project leadership for capital initiatives: develop project charters, management plans, schedules, WBS, risk registers, and budgets; coordinate across departments.Engage with customer and regulatory requirements; prepare proposals; renew business opportunities; contribute to strategic plans.Author technical papers and deliver formal presentations to customers and regulators.What you bringB.S. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.10+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or chemical plant setting.Proficiency with AutoDesk and ANSYS (preferred).Working knowledge of ASME codes.Demonstrated leadership of projects from design through commissioning, including scope, schedule, budget development, execution, and monitoring to meet targets. PMP certification.Strong teamwork capabilities—both leading and contributing.Ability to produce drawings in Inventor or SolidWorks (or similar CAD).Industrial refinery experience.Experience leading and troubleshooting projects.Safety first, alwaysYour success matters as much as your safety.
