Job summary

IREN is seeking a Mechanical Lead to operate and maintain the Central Utility Plant and data-center cooling infrastructure. You will monitor plant and building automation systems, respond to alarms, and coordinate with senior engineers and vendors to protect uptime, safety, and efficiency.

With a focus on renewable energy and sustainable data centers, the role requires leadership on shift, hands-on operation of chillers, pumps and VFDs, and collaboration with IT and engineering teams to plan

Qualifications

• 5+ years operating and maintaining central utility/industrial systems.
• Experience leading shift operations under abnormal conditions.
• Knowledge of chilled water, hydronic loops, pumps and VFDs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the central utility plant and cooling infrastructure.
• Monitor plant and building automation systems; respond to alarms.
• Coordinate with senior engineers and vendors to protect uptime and efficiency.
• Lead shift activities and document preventative maintenance.
