Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Materials Sciences.
  • 9+ years of experience in mechanical systems design.
  • Practical experience with Fuels, Hydraulic Systems, or ECS.

  • Lead the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment.
  • Lead the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers.
  • Perform detailed design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations.
  • Prepare technical documents for mechanical components and systems.
  • Prepare proposal and new business development efforts.
  • Work with test program management for work estimation and intake process.
  • Delegate tasks to design team and provide supervision to junior engineers.

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Lead Mechanical System Design Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers (MS&B) programs. The successful candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Fuels system of the B-52, providing expertise in design and sustainment.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment
  • Lead the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers
  • Perform detailed design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations
  • Prepare technical documents for mechanical components and systems
  • Prepare proposal and new business development efforts
  • Work with test program management for work estimation and intake process
  • Delegate tasks to design team and provide supervision to junior engineers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, OK

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 9+ years of experience in mechanical systems design
  • Practical experience and knowledge of Fuels, Hydraulic Systems, or ECS .
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Experience with and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering schematics, and specifications
  • Experience performing Mechanical System Design and Analysis`
  • 3+ years of experience designing tooling using CAD/CAM software, preferably CATIA
  • Experience producing technical reports and presentations
  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with engineering processes and methods
  • Experience working with cross functional teams

Summary pay range
  • Lead (Level 4) $118,150 – $159,850
