Job summary

Wiley|Wilson is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the mechanical design on diverse projects from our Alexandria, VA office. You will work with the mechanical design staff across the firm, serving as the mechanical technical lead to transform concepts into detailed design documents.

We value experience in HVAC, plumbing, steam, hot water, and chilled water systems, and require a ABET‑accredited Mechanical Engineering degree, Virginia PE or reciprocity within 3 months, and proficiency

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Registered Professional Engineer in Virginia or able to obtain via reciprocity within 3 months of start date.
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit; field knowledge of mechanical systems; familiar with Trane Trace 700 analysis software.
• Knowledge and application of sustainable design practices.
• Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States and eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design on diverse projects and guide the design staff.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Senior Engineers, and other Project Engineers to conceptualize designs and produce detailed design documents.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to business development efforts.
