Job summary

Stratasys Tucson is seeking a Lead Mechanical Inspector to provide technical leadership across incoming, in-process, and final inspections for complex, serialized parts. You will interpret drawings, apply GD&T, and mentor inspectors while ensuring ISO 9001/AS9100 compliance and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in blueprint reading and engineering drawings.
• Advanced knowledge of GD&T and inspection methodologies.
• Experience with AS9102 FAIR and quality documentation requirements.
• Proficiency with inspection tools, portable CMM, and metrology systems.
• Experience with inspection software (e.g., PolyWorks or equivalent).
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections per instructions and customer requirements.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T; act as subject matter expert on GD&T.
• Utilize advanced inspection tools and metrology systems (portable CMM, FARO, Romer).
• Ensure compliance with AS9102 FAIR documentation and ISO requirements.
• Review and validate inspection results for accuracy and completeness.
• Lead disposition for nonconforming materials and NCR processes.
• Provide guidance to inspectors and train on standards and customer specs.
• Coordinate with production on workload and priorities.
• Support audits, CAPAs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
