Job summary

Quantum Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to lead design, development, integration, and testing of flight hardware for next‑gen spacecraft programs. You will own mechanical subsystems through requirements, design, and verification.

This role requires hands-on experience with aerospace hardware, strong Creo CAD skills, and the ability to drive technical execution in a fast-paced team. Location options include Rockville, MD or Hawthorne, CA, with on-site work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years in aerospace hardware development.
• Proficiency in Creo; working knowledge of Windchill PLM.
• Strong GD&T fundamentals (ASME Y14.5) and drawing discipline.
• Experience supporting hardware through build/test cycles.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical components end-to-end from requirements to integration.
• Develop CAD drawings in Creo and apply GD&T requirements.
• Drive interface closure: envelopes, datums, fasteners, harness routes.
• Support spacecraft build, issue triage, and corrective design updates.
• Develop and execute verification plans and test evidence.
• Support design reviews (PDR/CDR) and configuration boards.
• Coordinate with suppliers and procurement for design clarity.
