Beyond Reach Labs is designing and building the largest deployable structures for space. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will design, analyze, and validate mechanical systems and actuators for deployable structures used on satellites and related space platforms.

You will own mechanism subsystems, perform trade studies, create CAD models, run FEA, and lead testing and qualification activities while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable,

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
• 4+ years hands-on engineering experience with satellite or launch vehicle mechanisms.
• Experience taking at least one spaceflight mechanism from design through qualification.
• Experience designing and qualifying mechanisms driven by stepper or BLDC motors, springs, and HDRMs.
• Proficient in developing design models and drawings for production and analysis using CAD software.

Responsabilidades

• Own mechanism subsystems from requirements through flight qualification.
• Lead trade studies and apply First Principles Engineering Analysis to optimize mechanisms and systems for satellites.
• Create and review CAD models, mechanism architecture, material/lubrication selections, assembly processes, and test methods.
• Conduct and review static, dynamic, thermal, fatigue analyses to ensure adequate margins and reliability.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and lead anomaly investigations.
• Define qualification plans and acceptance testing methods, and present designs at design reviews.
• Produce and approve complete design packages, including drawings, analysis reports, BOMs, and assembly documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers for spacecraft integration.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, and set design standards for the mechanical team.
