Job summary

Citrine LLC in Colorado is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer, PE to provide senior technical leadership across our mechanical projects and mentor the team. This role blends hands-on design work with strategic guidance, advancing Citrine’s mechanical engineering capabilities.

Based in Colorado with hybrid options, the Lead will oversee design from concept through construction and commissioning, coordinate with other disciplines, and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience with leadership of complex projects.
• Experience directing, mentoring, or leading mechanical engineers, designers, or technicians.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems design and analysis for commercial, industrial, and government facilities.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, piping, and equipment design.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specs, calculations, and documentation.
• Ability to lead others, manage priorities, and ensure project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead senior technical direction for Citrine’s mechanical projects across all phases from concept through commissioning.
• Mentor engineers, designers, and technicians; provide engineering guidance.
• Develop mechanical designs, calculations, layouts, specs, and equipment selections per codes.
• Design and analyze HVAC systems and reliability of mechanical equipment.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and other disciplines to resolve conflicts.
• Review deliverables for technical accuracy, quality, and code compliance.
• Support construction, commissioning, startup, and field activities.
