Job summary

Fresenius Kabi USA, LLC in Massachusetts seeks an Engineering Specialist to lead development of mechanical systems for infusion products. You will plan, direct and implement designs to meet performance goals and business objectives, acting as technical lead and mentoring engineers.

The role involves DoE, system integration, and designing ergonomic housings, with a hybrid onsite schedule of three days per week. Strong background in regulated environments and SolidWorks is required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of mechanical design experience on product development teams.
• 5+ years in regulated environments (Medical, Aerospace, Military).
• Experience designing electro-mechanical assemblies in SolidWorks or CAD systems.
• Experience with PDM for drawing revisions per FDA requirements.
• DFM or New Product Introduction experience.
• Experience with system integration challenges including thermal management and design for reliability.
• Attention to detail and hands-on R&D lab approach.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads design and development of Infusion products within hardware team.
• Designs complex electro-mechanical mechanisms to achieve performance goals.
• Establishes and performs DoE to assess new solutions and designs.
• Integrates functional elements into a unified system design.
• Designs product housings that integrate subsystems into ergonomic industrial design.
• Generates GD&T drawings identifying critical dimensions and capabilities.
• Performs DFMEA and updates designs accordingly.
• Optimizes designs for low cost, high quality, reliability and high-volume assembly.
• Coordinates with internal/external resources for design, prototype and transfer to manufacturing.
• Performs and documents failure analysis to drive improvements.
• Works with customers and vendors on technical issues.
