Job summary

IMEG Corporation is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Rochester, NY to lead the design of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems for large projects. You will manage engineering analyses, oversee implementations, mentor junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Applicants should have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, a PE license, and 10+ years in building design. Travel up to 20% and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE License required.
• 10 years minimum experience, 12 preferred in building design consulting.
• Strong design techniques for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection.
• Thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics mastery.
• Leadership, mentoring and client relationship skills.
• Ability to perform final QC and travel up to 20%.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team player.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Perform site assessments and generate technical reports.
• Gather client requirements and maintain relationships.
• Provide design reviews and ensure IMEG QC standards.
• Mentor junior staff and resolve field issues.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and PMs to deliver integrated solutions.
• Participate in project interviews and presentations.
