Job summary

Blue Energy seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for the gas-to-nuclear bridge. You will lead design, integration, and delivery across FEED through startup, managing cross-discipline interfaces and program risk.

This hands-on leadership role requires deep technical expertise, stakeholder influence, and clear business impact communication on schedule, cost, and performance.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of engineering and project delivery experience in simple-cycle or combined-cycle natural gas power generation.
• Experience leading projects through the full lifecycle, including concept development, FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, startup, and handover.
• Strong foundation in power generation systems, including combustion turbines, heat recovery, balance‑of‑plant equipment, and plant integration.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, hydraulics, rotating equipment, piping, instrumentation and controls, and performance analysis.
• Experience developing and validating plant performance models using THERMOFLEX, GateCycle, GT PRO, or equivalents.
• Ability to review and approve engineering deliverables using Bluebeam and other document management tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the technical basis for utility-scale gas generation projects as part of an owner’s engineering team.
• Lead FEED and detailed design reviews, directing deliverables from EPCs, OEMs, and consultants.
• Perform and review plant performance studies to compare design options and commercial impacts.
• Drive resolution of complex technical issues and field challenges during project execution.
• Support project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and technical execution plans.
• Lead technical evaluations for major equipment procurements, including bid reviews and factory acceptance testing.
• Coordinate interfaces across mechanical, process, electrical, controls, civil, and construction teams.
• Support construction, commissioning, startup, and performance testing activities.
