A leading engineering firm in Lynn, MA is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to oversee mechanical infrastructure projects. This role involves design, analysis, and compliance with industry standards while providing mentorship to junior engineers. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and relevant project management experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
Perform the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards and product requirements
Utilize experience in the design and maintenance of mechanical systems, including ASME Boilers and Pressure Vessels (Section I, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII and IX), Power and Pressure Piping Systems (Section B31), HVAC systems, rotating machinery, corrosion control (NACE) and fuel distribution systems
Participate and conduct design reviews
Direct drafting efforts to complete design and fabrication drawings
Review design and fabrication drawings for accuracy, tolerances, producibility and compliance to applicable Codes and standards
Interpret and apply ANSI 2.4 - AWS Weld Symbols and ANSI Y 14 Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards is required
Document and ensure technical data generated is consistent with Lynn Plant Services Facilities Engineering policies and procedures
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
Be responsible for all aspects of assigned projects including design and fabrication, schedules, financial results, deliverables, coordination of all internal and external resources, establishing priorities, communication and reporting
Assist as needed in long term planning and execution of strategic functional and department goals and objectives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University (or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering position within a manufacturing or shop environment) + 3 years of experience in a mechanical engineering position, including managing and controlling budgets
