Job summary

Hudbay Minerals Inc. seeks a Process Plant Lead (Mechanical) to provide technical leadership for the copper world process plant. You will oversee design, procurement, construction support, and commissioning to meet safety, operability, and cost targets.

You will partner with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Procurement, and Commissioning teams to ensure reliable, maintainable facilities and alignment with project objectives and owner standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required or equivalent.
• P.E. registration preferred for senior leadership.
• 10+ years in large mining/mineral processing projects required.
• Experience with concentrators >40,000 STPD preferred.
• IPD project delivery experience highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for all mechanical aspects of the process plant.
• Oversee engineering deliverables and ensure owner standards are met.
• Coordinate interfaces across process, civil, structural, electrical, and I&C disciplines.
• Lead design reviews, bid evaluations, and equipment selection.
• Support commissioning, start-up, and handover to operations.
