Job summary

Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Senior Metallurgist – Process Improvement & Analytics in Sahuarita, AZ. This full-time role drives metallurgical performance, data-driven decisions, and value creation across Copper World operations.

You will lead OPEX/CAPEX analyses, build dashboards and KPIs, and collaborate across mining, geology, processing, and reliability to optimize throughput and costs. A strong data analytics mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical, chemical, mining engineering or related discipline.
• Eight years of experience in mineral processing, metallurgy, process improvement or operational excellence.
• Experience in large-scale copper/molybdenum/gold or polymetallic operations.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the Processing OPEX model and benchmarks.
• Develop and manage processing CAPEX initiatives and business cases.
• Conduct economic evaluations (NPV, IRR, payback) and sensitivity analyses.
• Lead process improvement to raise throughput, recovery, and reduce costs.
• Develop dashboards, KPIs, and performance monitoring for operations.
• Mentor engineers and scientists in process improvement methods.
