Job summary

Dunaway seeks a seasoned design engineer to own the engineering authority for extrusion presses and related handling equipment. You will lead design efforts, oversee field fixes, and coordinate shop scheduling from concept to installation, reporting to the President/Owner.

Expect 10–15% travel and a strong focus on CAD modeling, FEA validation, and manufacturability of 2D drawings. A BS in engineering and 10+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in industrial machinery design.
• Strong 2D detailing for manufacturing using CAD tools.
• Hydraulics knowledge for new systems and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of FEA with industry-standard software.
• Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and components.

Responsibilities

• Design extrusion presses and material handling equipment via 3D modeling.
• Reverse-engineer equipment for repairs, upgrades, and product enhancements.
• Troubleshoot with field services to resolve performance issues.
• Plan and oversee movement and installation of presses and billet heaters.
• Assist with job quoting and scope definition.
