Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Greenville, TX is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer (ODA Airworthiness) to lead certification activities for aircraft environmental control, oxygen, hydraulics, and airframe systems. You will work on FAA and MIL-HDBK-516C compliant plans and support airworthiness determinations.

The role requires a strong background in aircraft mechanical systems, the ability to interact with certification teams, and readiness to obtain DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with nine years’ aircraft experience, or
• Graduate degree with seven years’ aircraft experience, or
• 13 years of Mechanical Engineering experience in an aircraft environment in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist in FAA Certification Plans and identify applicable FAA regs for projects.
• Review data supporting FAA findings of compliance.
• Support Certification teams for Military Certification activities per airworthiness requirements.
• Determine applicability of FAA Advisory Circulars and Policies to projects.
• Assist engineering with Special Conditions, Exemptions, and petitions to FAA.
• Support design reviews to meet FAA and Military Certification requirements.
