Job summary

CACI International is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (T3) to lead design, analysis, integration, and testing of high‑reliability mechanical systems for defense and aerospace programs.

You will drive hardware from concept through prototype, qualification, and production, collaborating with IPTs across engineering disciplines to meet MIL‑STD requirements and ensure manufacturability for LRIP to full‑rate production.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or related field.
• 5–8+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in aerospace/defense/government contracting.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drawing generation (SolidWorks, Creo, Siemens NX).
• Strong foundation in structural mechanics, heat transfer, dynamics, materials, and fabrication processes.
• Proficiency with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and familiarity with MIL-STD guidance.
• U.S. Citizenship and active Secret clearance or eligibility for Top Secret.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis, integration, and testing of complex mechanical systems for defense/aerospace.
• Direct designs through SRR, PDR, and CDR.
• Create and review drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Formulate qualification and acceptance test plans; lead testing (vibration, thermal vacuum, shock).
• Coordinate with internal shops and external suppliers to procure parts and resolve non-conformances.
• Collaborate with IPTs to ensure LRIP to full-rate production readiness.
