Job summary

Mind Robotics is building Physical AI for real-world industrial deployment, starting with the factory floor. The Mechanical Lead will own the wearable platform's architecture across head-worn and body-worn devices, guiding tradeoffs and budgets.

Qualifications

• Exceptional mechanical intuition with wearables experience.
• Led the mechanical architecture of a shipped wearable end-to-end.
• Packaging cameras/sensors/compute/batteries into space-constrained enclosures with tight tolerances.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of injection molding and polymer selection from design through tooling.
• Experience with soft goods and textiles for wearable interfaces.
• Proficient in CAD tools with surface modeling capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical architecture across head-worn and body-worn devices.
• Set mechanical requirements for optics, electrical, and compute teams: volume, keep-out, alignment, stiffness, thermal and mass budgets.
• Decide which mechanical problems to tackle and which to defer in product generations.
• Own build and tooling strategy and select vendors and tooling partners.
• Set mechanical standards, design reviews, tolerance analysis, materials qualification, and DFM expectations.
• Prototype, test, and perform tolerance, structural, drop, and thermal analyses on real user devices.
• Grow the mechanical bench through design reviews, mentorship, and hiring.
