Job summary

TechDoQuest in New Jersey is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to advance cordless, pneumatic, and electric power tools from concept to production. You will lead mechanism, drivetrain, housing, and electromechanical integrations using CAD tools and manufacturing insights.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of experience, strong CAD skills (Creo/SolidWorks/NX/CATIA), GD&T expertise, and a track record delivering manufacturable, cost-effective designs for global teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience designing mechanical or electromechanical products.
• Proficiency with Creo, SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA.
• Strong GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and drawing standards.
• Experience with injection-molded plastics, castings, machined parts, and sheet metal.
• Understanding of gears, bearings, motors, and mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and subsystems.
• Create and maintain drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Lead design activities for drivetrains, gear systems, housings, and structures.
• Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFM, and DFA principles.
• Support prototypes, validation, and production launches.
• Collaborate across functions to optimize performance, cost, reliability, manufacturability.
• Participate in design reviews and root-cause investigations.
• Support lifecycle changes and engineering change management.
