Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer in Marlborough, MA to lead complex industrial projects. You will create 2D/3D drawings, piping layouts, and structural designs while mentoring junior designers.

You’ll review specifications, develop compliant, cost-effective designs, and coordinate with vendors, fabricators, and internal teams. Travel may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent design experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical drafting, fabrication methods, and industrial design standards.
• Navisworks proficiency for model integration and clash detection.
• Experience creating piping layouts, isometric drawings, pipe supports, ductwork, pressure parts, or similar industrial systems.
• Ability to review customer specifications and develop compliant, cost-effective designs.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise 2D drawings, 3D models, piping layouts, equipment assemblies, and structural designs.
• Generate bills of materials, isometric drawings, layouts, and fabrication details.
• Perform design reviews to ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and manufacturing best practices.
• Conduct Navisworks model integration and clash detection reviews.
• Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, construction teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead design efforts during proposal and project execution phases.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and drawing deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to design team members.
