Job summary

R-V Industries, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design, sizing, and documentation for custom equipment built to demanding customer specifications.

You will own engineering quality, mentor peers, and collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to ensure on-time delivery. The role requires 5+ years of progressive design experience, solid knowledge of machine design, and proficiency with SolidWorks or Inventor.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive machine design experience focusing on heavy machinery and drive-systems.
• Ability to perform stress/failure and sizing calculations for complex equipment.
• Experience with pneumatic/hydraulic actuators and linear actuators selection.
• Experience with sensor selection and integration.
• Experience creating P&ID diagrams for systems.
• Proven design for manufacturability and tolerance stack-up.
• Strong understanding of codes and customer specifications.
• 3+ years of experience with SolidWorks or Inventor.

Responsibilities

• Design custom mechanical equipment and machinery to meet job specs and codes.
• Perform sizing and stress/failure calculations for components and assemblies.
• Own engineering quality, mentor junior engineers, and discuss technical positions with customers and stakeholders.
• Own the specification review and all technical documentation including drawings and BOMs.
• Create Bills of Materials and ensure buyout components meet requirements.
• Assist cross-functional teams with contract issues and project budgeting/scheduling.
• Communicate effectively with customers’ technical personnel on design and requirements.
