Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Cincinnati is seeking a Specialist, Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design activities for FOS products. You will design, modify, and analyze components, working with a multidisciplinary team to meet customer specs and quality standards.

You will participate in design reviews, create verification tests, and support production with tooling and documentation updates. A strong background in CAD, GD&T, and DFMA is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related field with min 4 years of experience. Graduate degree with at least 2 years; or 8 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
• Proficiency with CAD software like Solid Edge, SolidWorks, NX, etc.
• Experience with GD&T and dimensional stack-up/tolerance analysis.
• Experience with manufacturing methods and DFMA.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead mechanical engineer on programs to ensure designs meet customer specifications.
• Generate or modify designs per guidelines; adhere to documentation standards.
• Collaborate to perform finite element analysis and ensure compliance with DoD and customer requirements.
• Prepare and present materials for design reviews and tests; develop verification test sequences.
