Job summary

Delart seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of lightweight, swappable battery systems for robotics and consumer electronics. You will architect robust assemblies, supervise testing, and drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver safe, high-performance power solutions.

In this role, you will mentor teams, partner with CM/production partners, and apply advanced CAD/FEA tools to optimize packaging and reliability for demanding real-world use cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in mechanical design of complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience with lightweight battery modules and mechanical packaging.
• Strong thermal management knowledge for battery/electronics.
• DOE experience and validation testing.
• Proficient in SOLIDWORKS or Siemens NX; capable with prototyping.
• GD&T and tolerance analysis expertise.
• FEA experience (static and modal).
• Proven project management in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, engineer, and optimize lightweight battery systems focusing on safety, weight, and reliability.
• Lead design, validation, performance, endurance, and life cycle testing of subsystems.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues via root-cause analysis and design iteration.
• Guide CMs for high-volume production transitions; ensure manufacturability and quality.
• Collaborate with reliability, electrical, and firmware engineers for integrated design.
• Develop test fixtures, protocols, execute tests, and analyze data for improvements.
• Design docking/interface components; support ancillary robotic subsystems.
• Oversee prototyping across diverse manufacturing processes.
• Perform tolerance analysis, GD&T, and FEA to validate robustness.
