Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks a Mechanic Supervisor to oversee the Harrisonburg mobile equipment repair shop. You will supervise mechanics, assign repairs, and ensure availability of tools and parts.

The role is based in Catahoula Parish, District 58, Unit 072, and reports to the Equipment Superintendent. This full-time position is a promotional opportunity for current permanent classified DOTD employees only, with compensation dependent on qualifications

Qualifications

• Four years of experience or training as a mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Assign and supervise repairs on state equipment.
• Equip employees with necessary equipment, tools, and shop supplies to accomplish their assigned duties.
• Order and purchase parts and supplies.
• Compile all parts invoices and repair orders.
• Perform limited administrative functions by exercising full supervisory responsibility over the Harrisonburg shop personnel and shop activities.
