Job summary

MGE Underground is seeking a skilled Mechanic to troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and gas/diesel systems, with fabrication capabilities. The role includes maintaining company vehicles and equipment, inspecting installations, and supporting safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in heavy-duty service, experience with hydraulics and diesel engines, and welding/fabrication skills. DOT inspections and the ability to work varied hours, including weekends, are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in heavy-duty equipment service and repair.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with hydraulics, diesel engines, and DOT/BIT.
• One year experience with air brakes.
• One year experience with vehicle electrical and computer-controlled systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and gas/diesel problems, including some fabrication.
• Maintain, inspect, and repair company vehicles and equipment.
• Oversee daily work/performance, inspect installations, and ensure safety standards.
• Repair equipment on job sites as needed.
• Perform DO T ninety-day inspections and routine preventive maintenance.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and reliability.
