Job summary

MGE Underground, Inc. is hiring a skilled Mechanic to troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and gas/diesel systems on a range of heavy equipment. The role includes on-site maintenance, inspections, and occasional fabrication, with potential overtime and weekend work.

You will mentor junior mechanics, ensure safety standards, and perform preventive maintenance per manuals and diagrams. A valid CDL and strong diagnostic skills are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn MGE processes and software.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.
• Ability work and drive safely in all weather and road conditions.
• Ability to work flexible hours and days, to include nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability read and interpret schematics.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor entry-level mechanics and oversee daily work.
• Inspect installations and repairs to ensure quality.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and gas/diesel problems.
• Repair and maintain construction equipment from light- to heavy-duty.
• Perform DOT ninety-day inspections.
