Job summary

StandardAero in Miami, FL seeks a Lead Mechanic to serve as a working lead, guiding day-to-day department functions from induction through final release. You will support production flow, coordinate teams, and perform hands-on component maintenance.

The role requires strong MRO experience, ability to read and apply manuals, and a focus on safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance in induction, disassembly, inspection, and assembly in MRO.
  • At least 1 year of Microsoft Office experience - Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand for at least 50% of shift.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily production flow and shift coordination.
  • Lead daily stand-ups and cross-functional meetings.
  • Monitor training progress and support employee development.
  • Review timesheets, labor utilization, and production metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and COPQ reduction.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and support teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and calibration activities for compliance.
  • Perform component induction, documentation review, and AD/mod status verification.
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, assemble, and document components per specifications.
  • Apply maintenance manuals, technical data, blueprints, and support test cell operations.

As a Lead Mechanic, you will serve as a working lead and be responsible for leading the day-to-day functions of the department. You’ll be supporting production flow, team coordination, and hands‑on component maintenance from induction through final release.

What you’ll do
  • Support daily production flow, and shift coordination.
  • Lead daily stand‑ups and represent the cell in production and cross-functional meetings.
  • Monitor training progress, maintain skills matrices, and support employee development.
  • Review timesheets, labor utilization, and production performance metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, COPQ reduction, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and support teams to resolve technical and workflow issues.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and calibration activities to ensure compliance.
  • Perform component induction, documentation review, and AD/mod status verification.
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, assemble, and document components in accordance with technical specifications.
  • Apply maintenance manuals, technical data, blueprints, and support test cell operations as needed.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience performing induction, disassembly, inspection, and assembly in a production, maintenance, repair, or overhaul (MRO) environment.
  • At least 1 year of Microsoft Office experience - Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand for at least 50% of shift.
Desired Skills
  • Experience using production, ERP, or MRO systems to document labor hours, materials, and work instructions.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Experience training or mentoring mechanics.
