Job summary

StandardAero is hiring a Lead Mechanic to serve as a working lead, directing day-to-day department functions and hands-on component maintenance from induction through final release. You’ll support production flow, coordinate teams, and drive improvements across the shop floor.

The role requires 5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience in MRO, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience in induction, disassembly, inspection, and assembly in MRO settings.
  • 1+ year of Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily production flow, and shift coordination.
  • Lead daily stand-ups and represent the cell in production and cross‑functional meetings.
  • Monitor training progress, maintain skills matrices, and support employee development.
  • Review timesheets, labor utilization, and production performance metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, COPQ reduction, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and support teams to resolve technical and workflow issues.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and calibration activities to ensure compliance.
  • Perform component induction, documentation review, and AD/mod status verification.
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, assemble, and document components in accordance with technical specifications.
  • Apply maintenance manuals, technical data, blueprints, and support test cell operations as needed.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience performing induction, disassembly, inspection, and assembly in a production, maintenance, repair, or overhaul (MRO) environment.
  • At least 1 year of Microsft Office experience - Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand for at least 50% of shift.
Desired Skills
  • Experience using production, ERP, or MRO systems to document labor hours, materials, and work instructions.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Experience training or mentoring mechanics.
