Rogers Public Schools is seeking a Transportation Shop Supervisor to assist with the daily operation and management of the bus shop. You will supervise mechanics, assign work, and coordinate with drivers and transportation staff to keep buses safe and out on route.

The role requires a clean driving record, CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, ASE training, and a high school diploma. Expect 230–240 contract days with immediate start.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Must have training and knowledge of vehicle maintenance, and possess diesel mechanic skills to be able to handle most major and minor problems relating to vehicle maintenance. Formal schooling such as ASE, prior work experience, or previous on-the-job training required. Must have a clean driving record and must carry or be willing to obtain a class A or class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements. Must be responsible and be able to work on both the opening and closing shift in the shop. High school diploma; excellent management, logistics, mechanical, electrical, and technology skills; excellent organizational and people skills. Person in this position must also be able to perform other duties as assigned by the district.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Assist with the daily operation and management of the transportation bus shop.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Will help supervise the shop and mechanics and manage work assignments for all shop employees. Will assist with driver concerns as well as communicating with bus attendants, substitutes, mentors, and other transportation staff and will work closely with the Shop Manager and the Operations Manager. Responsible for ensuring that the bus maintenance and repairs are current and complete. Will assist with maintaining the vehicle fleet as well as helping keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs. Assist with scheduling vehicle maintenance, out-sourcing, and factory warranty issues/recalls, as needed. Will assist with the purchasing of vehicles, equipment, tools, fuel, and other shop related items and help with record keeping and budget management, and related accounting procedures. Must be able to address mechanical issues, personnel issues, safety concerns, and complete accident investigations and insurance claims related to buses and other school vehicles.

Will perform other duties as assigned.
