Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer, MCA to partner with a team of engineers focused on delivering software solutions for its MCA-based control system locomotives. You will lead the technical requirements definition, verification, validation and implementation phases of MCA software release(s) to ensure customer satisfaction.

You will initiate software releases starting with System level requirements definition & flow-down through the sub-system level, followed by internal sub-system &

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years safety-critical or embedded controls experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve product problems in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to estimate engineering effort for defined tasks.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience leading software releases and ensuring requirements flow-down.
• Project/Program Management experience.

Responsibilities

• Define MCA software revision/release scope with requirements definition, documentation updates, design review planning, verification and validation plans.
• Provide end-to-end oversight of MCA software release process ensuring system level requirements are met through validation testing.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation activities to reduce risks prior to software release.
• Communicate program & project progress to all levels of the organization.
