Job summary

Wabtec seeks a Lead Systems Engineer, MCA – Fleet Innovation & Transformation to lead requirements, verification and validation for MCA software on locomotives. You will oversee releases, plan validations, and ensure deployments minimize disruption while meeting customer needs.

You will coordinate with engineers, drive milestones, and mentor teams in safety-critical embedded control environments. Location is Pittsburgh, with competitive benefits and growth opportunities at Wabtec.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in systems/ software/ electrical engineering or CS, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in safety-critical or embedded controls environments.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate technical teams with urgency.
• Ability to estimate engineering effort and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Define MCA software revision scope and alignment with requirements.
• Oversee end-to-end MCA software release and validation activities.
• Lead risk identification and mitigation prior to releases.
• Communicate program progress across organization levels.
