Job summary

SAIC seeks an experienced Model Based Systems Engineer to join our Technical Engineering and Design Department in support of the USAF. This on-site role is based in San Diego, CA.

You will develop and manage system architecture models using MBSE tools, lead requirements management, and conduct trade studies to mitigate program risk. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and clear, concise documentation are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• B.S. in Systems Engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years of progressive systems engineering experience on complex programs.
• MBSE proficiency with tools such as Cameo, Sparx EA, or Rhapsody.
• Familiarity with DoDAF/UPDM/UAF architectures and DOORS/JAMA.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering across the full lifecycle from concept to disposal.
• Develop and maintain MBSE models (SysML) and ensure traceability.
• Lead requirements management and interface definition with stakeholders.
• Conduct trade studies, risk analyses, and performance/integration assessments.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and test teams for cohesive design.
• Support integration, verification, and validation activities.
• Prepare technical docs, system models, and executive briefings.
