Job summary

Chicago Public Schools in Chicago is seeking a Lead Coach for a subset of CPS schools. This 228-day position offers 43.6 weeks, with 6.25 standard hours per day, providing 80% release time to coach teacher leaders and the school’s instructional teams.

The Lead Coach will work with School Leaders to plan distributed leadership, develop recruitment and development plans, and advance the instructional core across learning cycles.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education.
• Have four (4) years of service or commensurate experience.
• If CPS Candidate: REACH rating of 3.4 (340) or above or Proficient.
• Experience leading peers/adults effectively.
• Expertise in instructional needs of the school community.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of teachers in enacting the instructional core and plan for learning cycles.
• Develop Teacher Leaders' capacity to lead adult learners and design inquiry-based learning.
• Provide one-to-one coaching and monitor student and teacher learning.
• Lead team meetings and contribute to district professional development.
