Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Materials & Process Engineer (T02/T03) to research, analyze, and test materials for aerospace structures. Located in El Segundo, CA, this role involves developing tests, coordinating QA inspections, and interfacing with Design, Manufacturing and Quality teams.

Requires a STEM degree with relevant experience and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Preferred candidates hold a Master’s in Materials Science or Chemistry, aerospace industry experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM and at least 2 years of relevant experience for Engineer Material & Process.
• Master's in STEM with no years of experience.
• Bachelor's in STEM and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's with 3 years, or PhD with no experience for Principal Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Support SCD team in developing composite and adhesively bonded structure test programs.
• Apply chemistry, physics, and mechanics to design and test materials.
• Assist in developing NDI reference standards for inspections.
• Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing and Quality to align materials and designs with production.
• Review engineering drawings and write fabrication work plans for composites.
