Job summary

Airtech International, a global leader in advanced composites, seeks a Senior Materials Engineer to lead development and validation of high-performance polymers for demanding applications.

You will evaluate resins, optimize formulations, and design tests to verify mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties. Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Production, Sales, and Purchasing to drive product success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in polymer materials, compound formulation, or related roles in a manufacturing or advanced materials environment.
• Hands-on experience with polymer selection, resin evaluation, compound development, and materials testing (mechanical, thermal, chemical).
• Ability to work with manufacturing teams to scale formulations and resolve processing challenges.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and select raw material resins based on performance requirements.
• Assess resin performance via lab and application testing.
• Optimize compounded formulas and scale from lab to production.
• Design and execute test plans for mechanical, thermal, chemical, and processing performance.
• Analyze test data and iterate formulations to meet performance targets.
• Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement of product manufacturing.
• Provide technical guidance on material selection and processing parameters.
• Prepare technical documentation and recommendations to support product adoption and customer success.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Production, Sales, and Purchasing on development initiatives.
