Job summary

Airtech International in Springfield, TN, seeks a Senior Materials Engineer to lead development and validation of high-performance engineered polymers for demanding applications.

You will identify and evaluate resins, design test plans, and collaborate with R&D, Quality, Production, and Sales to scale formulations from lab to production. A Bachelor's in Materials Science with 5+ years of polymer experience is required; a Master’s is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in materials-related field with emphasis on polymers.
• 5+ years in polymer materials, compound formulation, or related roles.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and select raw material resins based on performance requirements.
• Assess performance and suitability of candidate resins through lab/testing.
• Optimize formulas and scale from lab to production with manufacturing.
• Design and execute test plans for mechanical, thermal, chemical, and processing performance.
• Analyze data, document results, and iterate formulations to meet targets.
• Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement of manufacturing.
• Provide guidance on material selection and processing parameters.
• Prepare technical docs and recommendations for product adoption.
