Veeco Instruments Inc. in Somerset, NJ seeks a Lead Material Handler to ensure timely, accurate movement of materials within daily warehouse operations.

You will pick, pack, ship, receive vendor materials, and support cycles counting, while coordinating with teams to keep production and service on track. As a lead-level role, you will train staff, provide process feedback, and maintain safety and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and at least 6 years of related experience.
• Must be computer proficient with inventory transactions in a computer-based system.
• Knowledge of inventory controls in a managed environment; SAP experience required.
• Experience with RMA/MRB processes preferred; Excel skills beneficial.
• Comfort leading regular meetings with management and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and operate forklifts; overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Interface with sales, customer service, and other areas to coordinate material flow.
• Assist in training distribution staff to achieve service and distribution goals.
• Provide real-time feedback on processes, safety, and efficiency.
• Act as escalation point for operational issues and problem resolution.
• Support inventory and warehouse policies and post transactions in SAP.
• Organize, pick, pack, ship and transport material; coordinate with operations.
• Participate in Warehouse 5S initiatives for a safer, cleaner environment.
• Ensure timely processing of material for assembly and avoid errors.
• Perform daily cycle counts and support 99.9% inventory accuracy.
• Operate forklifts and hand tools; maintain safety as a priority.
