Job summary

Goodwill Southwest Florida is seeking a skilled Material Handler II to oversee movement, sorting, and loading of donated materials while guiding Material Handler I staff. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and efficient workflow in Kaizen-driven operations.

The ideal candidate has warehouse experience, supervisory exposure, and the ability to support multiple plant areas to advance Goodwill's mission in the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–2 years warehouse operations experience.
• 1–2 years experience loading 53', 48' containers and box trucks.
• 1 year supervisory experience.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
• Color vision.
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds.
• Standing for long periods and working in variable temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Move, load, and unload donated materials, salvage commodities, trash, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring items are placed in designated plant locations.
• Follow Kaizen guidelines and 5-minute drills to maintain accuracy and efficiency in material-handling processes.
• Lead assigned operational areas by directing tasks and supporting Material Handler I employees.
• Assist in salvage sorting operations and cross-train to support additional plant roles.
• Provide professional, courteous service to stores, administrative teams, vendors, and donors while keeping the work environment clean, safe and organized.
