Job summary

ID Logistics US is seeking a shift supervisor for a Cold Storage Facility in California. You will direct forklift operators, provide training, assign work, and resolve problems to ensure safe operation of gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric-powered equipment in a high-volume distribution center environment.

You will train new hires, coordinate with supervisors, and maintain accuracy in inbound/outbound shipments while upholding strict safety and GMP standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Description

Description of the Position: Responsible for providing direction to Forklift Operators, training, assigning work, and resolving problems within area of responsibility. Operates gasoline-, liquefied gas-, or electric-powered industrial equipment equipped with lifting devices, such as sit-down, stand-up, clamp or other elevating equipment to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials from rail cars in distribution center or storage yard.

Cold Storage Facility, working environment 35 Degrees Fahrenheit

Responsibilities

• Supports and trains newly hired forklift operators within their area of responsibility.
• Assists supervisors and management of the facility in planning, assigning, and directing work
• Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using powered industrial equipment. Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspect assigned equipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas.
• Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of products are loaded and shipped.
• Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers, or containers.

Job Description

• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
• Inventories materials on work floor and supply workers with materials as needed.
• Follow customer requirements and/or other instructions to ensure accuracy: load count, stability of product, and that all products are loaded and unloaded safely.
• Coordinate as necessary with all other departments/functions, especially Customer Service, Transportation and Maintenance.
• Perform good housekeeping practices, clean as you go process.
• Conduct operations and equipment in a manner that promotes safety and report unsafe conditions that can’t be self-corrected to the leadership team.
• Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.
• Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule

Alternative Work Schedule 2nd Shift, Rotating 10 and 12 hour shift

• Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday 2:00pm - 2:30am
• Week 2: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday 2:00pm - 12:30am

Pay Rate

$22.00 Base Pay + $1 Cold Environment Incentive

Requirements

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one or more years of related

experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Forklift Operator with rail-specific experience.
• Must be able to successfully complete post-hire assessments.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain equipment certifications (e.g. OSHA, company, etc.).
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work environment (e.g. protective footwear, protective eyewear, gloves, etc.) in accordance with safety policies.
