How Will You Make an Impact?

A Day in the Life:

  • Coordinate activities to achieve self-directed work force. Assists with and performs training (department training, ISO training, Ethics Training, Safety Training) to establish and sustain self-directed work force. Coaching for improvement.
  • Plan and allocate labor, including weekend overtime, with the ability to rapidly reallocate labor as business needs dictate.
  • Balance labor resources across distribution operations as necessary to assure the overall success of the Department.
  • Provide leadership support with employee and work related issues.
  • Support change to achieve continuous improvement through Lean best practices in Warehousing, Material Flow and Logistics.
  • Lead shift to shift meeting, update the Gemba board and maintain attendance records in eTime.
  • Support inventory accuracy activities to achieve annual targets.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for Transportation, Customer, Supplier and/or Mfg supply issues.
  • Take ownership of safety initiatives including incident investigations and reporting within the required timeframe. Participate in safety walkthroughs and continuous improvement activities.
  • Execute operations to ensure daily safety and shipment objectives are achieved and support annual Total Recordable Incidents (TRIR) and Lost Time Recordable Incidents.
  • Interface with support departments and Supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education/Experience:

HS degree or GED required with 3 to 5 years of experience working in a fast paced warehouse department.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Prior experience in leading workforce teams
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)
  • Computer experience with SAP / Excel

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $19.77–$29.65.
