Job summary

BrandSafway in Norwell, MA is seeking a Lead Material Handler to oversee the movement, storage, and documentation of materials in our warehouse and production facility. This full-time role leads the Material Handling team, coordinates daily workloads, ensures accurate shipping and inventory records, and supports safe, on-time production and shipping.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of warehouse or material handling experience; lead experience preferred.
• Forklift experience required.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly.
• Mechanical aptitude is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, label, store, pull, stage, and deliver materials.
• Prepare customer orders for shipment and load/unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
• Perform physical inventory and cycle counts.
• Report material discrepancies, damage, shortages, and other issues.
• Provide day-to-day direction, guidance, and support to Material Handlers.
• Help coordinate daily workloads and ensure production and shipping needs are met.
• Train and assist team members with proper procedures, safety practices, and equipment operation.
• Serve as a resource for the team and communicate issues or concerns to supervision.
• Promote a safe, clean, organized, and productive work environment.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.

We are seeking a Lead Material Handler who will be responsible for the movement, storage, and documentation of materials, parts, and finished goods within a warehouse/production facility. This role performs the same core duties as a Material Handler while providing day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to the Material Handling team.

Shift: Monday – Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all Material Handler duties, including receiving, inspecting, labeling, storing, pulling, staging, and delivering materials.
• Accurately prepare customer orders for shipment and load/unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
• Perform physical inventory and cycle counts.
• Report material discrepancies, damage, shortages, and other issues.

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repeatedly and carry items for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to provide direction and work effectively with a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
