Job summary

Bigelow Tea, a leading specialty tea company, seeks a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor for our Boise facility. You will coordinate inbound/outbound shipments, manage inventory accuracy, and ensure GMP/safety compliance.

The role requires 1 year shipping/receiving experience and 1–3 years in a team leadership role within a fast-paced environment; forklift license is preferred but training will be provided. Strong communication is essential.

  • Knowledge of UPS and FedEx systems; forklift license preferred but will train.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all shipping and receiving duties.
  • Ensure reports are accurately completed and processed.
  • Ensure customer orders and inter-company transfers are completed.
  • Trace shipments and correct shipping errors with Customer Service when required.
  • Operate inventory equipment (RF), and support training programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for assigning and overseeing all shipping and receiving duties.
  • Ensure all required reports are accurately completed and processed.
  • Ensure customer orders and inter-company transfers are completed.
  • Assist Customer Service when required to trace shipments, and/or track and correct shipping errors.
  • Ensure smooth dock flow and assist with forklift duties as needed.
  • Work with freight carriers to solve delivery problems, lost freight, etc.
  • Ensure that all small package orders utilize the small package manifest system.
  • Conduct cycle counts of finished and raw material products.
  • Operate computer-related inventory equipment, both RF and keyboard.
  • Assist in development and implementation of shipping and receiving training programs.
  • Follow R.C. Bigelow’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
  • Comply with RC Bigelow Safety and Health Rules
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed

  • Ability to learn computer related work requirements
  • Ability to learn proper operation of forklift and pass required driving examination

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)

one year previous experience in shipping, receiving or material handling operations or equivalent;

one to three years related experience in a team leadership role within a fast-paced environment where decision making and management of multiple tasks was required, computer related experience, knowledge of UPS, FedEx systems, forklift license preferred but will train.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively relate necessary information to applicable personnel. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to understand and apply written, verbal, and visual instructions. Uses sound judgment and practical problem-solving skills to address routine situations involving multiple factors while following established procedures and guidelines.
