Job summary

Veeco’s Precision Surface Processing (PSP) division is expanding production and seeking a Manufacturing Technician on the 1st shift to assemble, test, and lead complex capital equipment for advanced semiconductor manufacturing. This role offers ownership, mentorship, and a direct impact on tool readiness and quality.

You will interpret mechanical drawings and schematics, troubleshoot issues with engineering, and ensure builds meet Veeco safety and quality standards while coordinating

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade education strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ hands‑on experience building or assembling electro‑mechanical systems, preferably in capital equipment or semiconductor environments.
• Availability to work 1st shift (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM) with overtime flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and integrate complete semiconductor process tools including frames, precision mechanical systems, wiring harnesses, and fluid delivery lines in accordance with engineering requirements.
• Interpret and execute from mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and fluid system diagrams to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Troubleshoot complex assembly issues in real time, collaborating with engineering to resolve problems quickly.
• Lead subassembly efforts or coordinate entire tool builds as required; assign tasks, maintain build schedules, and resolve material or documentation bottlenecks.
• Support and occasionally lead the tool power‑up process to ensure full operational readiness prior to handoff.
• Document builds thoroughly for traceability, ensuring adherence to Veeco quality standards.
• Model and enforce safety compliance, including lockout/tagout and all plant protocols.
