Job summary

MORSE Corp is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to help build new in-house production capabilities and set up production lines for novel technologies. You will drive high-impact manufacturing initiatives, support prototype and ramp-up, and work with the CTO of Manufacturing and project teams to identify in-house capabilities and partner with vendors.

You will apply Lean, PFMEA and quality systems to ensure repeatable, high-yield production, develop work instructions and SOPs, and collaborate

Qualifications

• US citizenship required and ability to obtain U.S. security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication skills bridging design engineers and vendors to ensure design intent matches production capabilities.
• Fluent in SolidWorks & 3DEXPERIENCE for parts, assemblies, drawings and metadata.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication, CNC, welding, injection molding; create clear work instructions and SOPs.
• Ability to design assembly jigs, fixtures, and inspection gauges for high yield.
• LEAN manufacturing and RCA methods with ownership of improvement projects.
• ISO9001 quality management systems including PFMEA, ECN/ECO, PPAP, NPI gates.

Responsibilities

• Scale manufacturing processes from R&D prototypes to higher volume production.
• Interface with ME/EE design engineers for DfM & DfA considerations.
• Create, evaluate and improve manufacturing processes and documentation.
• Develop manufacturing procedures, work instructions, setup sheets, routers, QC docs.
• Define processes including PFMEA, equipment specs, layout, startup, qualification and training.
• Work with technicians to ensure processes are followed safely.
• Identify and implement yield, quality and throughput improvements.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Create equipment specifications and source vendors for equipment and services.
• Collaborate with vendors to design, procure and fabricate tooling, fixtures, and supplies.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers to ramp up production.
